Loon (Gavia immer) Loons are a pretty quintessential Canadian sight. I remember walking down to the edge of  Lac Labarge in the Yukon on a misty morning, before were about to set off in our boat. In the quiet of the morning I saw the silhouettes of  many loons emerge from the mist.

This piece is part of my 'Birds of the Pacific Northwest' series. Each drawing contains one bird that is entangled with elements from its habitat. Leaves, branches and grasses flow in and out of the bird highlighting how important the habitat is for the bird and vice versa. One can't live without the other.

This is an original pen and ink drawing on archival paper with hints of gold

Dimensions: 5" x 5"

(Easily fits into an Ikea Ribba frame (as pictured)

The drawing comes with a story about the artwork and the artist.

Lovingly drawn in Vancouver, Canada
