Nootka Rose (Rosa nutkana) is one of my favourite plants of the Pacific Northwest. They have a beautiful scent and lovely colour.

They have a long history of use for the Coastal peoples. As my Pojar/Mackinnon guide says: 'Cedar-root cooking baskets used for boiling foods often had rose leaves placed under and over food to flavour and protect it from burning.'

This is an original pen and ink drawing with two paper layers and gold paint.

Dimensions: 6" x 7"

The drawing comes with a story about the artwork and the artist.

Lovingly drawn in Vancouver, Canada
